What is plagiarism?
"The practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own" (Oxford Dictionary of English)
You can avoid plagiarism by:
- taking effective notes
- paraphrasing, summarizing and quoting appropriately
- understanding what is common knowledge
- recording citation information for your sources
- citing your sources correctly
